Platform Nature & Editorial Mission

The Youth Prism is an independent, youth-run editorial development platform founded in 2025 by Arpita and Manan. We are not a corporate news wire; we are a mentorship-driven publishing collective. Our purpose is to:

• Bridge the gap between young aspiring analysts, journalists, and researchers and institutional publishing;
• Provide constructive, honest editorial feedback that develops a writer's craft, rather than delivering blanket rejections;
• Examine underreported stories across technology, geopolitics, economic trends, policy, philosophy, and youth culture;
• Provide public recognition, portfolio credentials, and accredited bylines to young thinkers worldwide.

Eligibility & Student Participation

The Youth Prism is open to readers of all ages and is specifically tailored for high school and university students (typically ages 13 to 25).

• Writers Under 18: High school writers and minors are welcome to contribute. By submitting a pitch or manuscript, you represent that you have informed your parent, legal guardian, or educational mentor, or that you possess appropriate capacity under local regulations to participate in educational writing activities.
• Parental Queries: Parents or guardians may review their child's submissions, request byline anonymization (such as pen names or first names only), or contact our founding editors with any safeguarding questions at theyouthprism@gmail.com.

Submissions & Pitching Policy

When you submit an article, commentary, or pitch through our Write For Us portal, you warrant and agree that:

• You are the sole author and creator of the submitted manuscript;
• The work does not violate any third-party copyright, privacy right, publicity right, trademark, or confidentiality agreement;
• The facts, statistics, and historical assertions contained within your reporting are accurate and backed by credible sources;
• The work does not contain libelous, defamatory, or unlawfully harmful content;
• You are not violating any academic honor code or institutional non-disclosure obligations.

Originality, Academic Integrity & AI Policy

We believe that writing is thinking. At a time when generative AI models produce generic, homogenized text, The Youth Prism exists precisely to champion authentic human voice, genuine curiosity, and personal analytical depth.

Permissible Use of Technology: We support using digital research tools, spell-checkers, and grammar checkers (like Grammarly) for proofreading and refinement. If generative AI tools are used for initial brainstorming, background data gathering, or automated interview transcription, authors must transparently disclose this methodology to the editorial board.

Copyright & Writer-First Licensing

Many traditional publications demand that young authors assign away their intellectual property rights. The Youth Prism categorically rejects that model.

When your work is approved and published on The Youth Prism, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free license to:

• Publish, reproduce, format, display, and archive your article on typ.zyanix.shop and its subdomains;
• Distribute excerpts, quotes, or article summaries via our email newsletter, Substack, Medium publication, and social media channels (such as LinkedIn and Instagram) strictly to promote your work and the publication;
• Include the piece in digital or print compilation anthologies curated by The Youth Prism (with prominent attribution to you).

Because this license is non-exclusive, you are free to do whatever you wish with your work after publication, including compiling it into personal books, thesis collections, or publishing it elsewhere.

Republishing & Citation Guidelines

We want your work to be read as widely as possible. You are welcome to republish your article on your personal blog, Substack, Medium account, or school newspaper, subject to one simple professional courtesy:

• Attribution Note: Include a brief credit line at the top or bottom of the republished piece, such as:
  "This article was originally developed and published by The Youth Prism (https://typ.zyanix.shop)."
• Academic Portfolios: You may freely submit published TYP pieces as writing samples for university admissions, journalism competitions, internship applications, and research fellowship submissions.

Editorial Review & Discretion

Every piece on The Youth Prism undergoes real human editorial development. By collaborating with us, writers agree to participate constructively in our review process:

• Collaboration: Our editors offer feedback on clarity, structure, pacing, argumentative logic, and voice. Writers have the right to discuss edits, explain creative choices, and ensure their true perspective is preserved.
• Copyediting: We reserve the right to make standard grammatical, orthographic, stylistic, headline, and formatting adjustments necessary to align with platform aesthetics and editorial guidelines.
• Discretion: Submitting a pitch does not guarantee publication. The editorial board retains sole discretion over which pieces are accepted, published, scheduled, or declined based on quality, relevance, and alignment with our editorial standards.

• Harassment & Doxxing: Trolling, bullying, stalking, intimidation, or exposing private contact information without consent;
• Defamation & Intentional Misinformation: Knowingly fabricating sources, fabricating quotes, or making unsubstantiated false allegations against real persons or organizations;
• Platform Abuse: Attempting to compromise website infrastructure, transmitting viruses, deploying scraping scrapers that disrupt service, or spamming forms.

Editorial Independence & Opinion Disclaimer

The Youth Prism is a forum for diverse viewpoints, analytical exploration, and debate among young writers.

Content published on this platform is intended solely for educational, cultural, and informational purposes and should not be construed as certified legal, financial, or medical advice.

The Youth Prism Brand & Website IP

While writers own their individual articles, all other materials comprising the platform are the exclusive intellectual property of The Youth Prism:

• The name "The Youth Prism," our prism logo, slogans ("Breaking Down the Spectrum of Change"), custom graphics, illustrations, color palette, custom CSS layout, and brand identity;
• Platform design, software code, interactive components, curated article metadata, and editorial compilation structure;
• You may not reproduce, clone, or scrape our visual website design, branding, or logos for commercial platforms without explicit written authorization from our founding team.

Limitation of Liability & Disclaimers

The Youth Prism website, articles, resources, and services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, The Youth Prism, its founders (Arpita and Manan), editors, and student team members shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages resulting from:
